Late night conversation with a friend who discovered something he recently realized he probably can't solve quite like his quantum physics equations:

Friend: "You see, so there doesn't seem to be a logical answer. The uncertainty is nerve-wracking. Does this happen to you?"

Me: "I think it happens to the best of us. And I'm going to resort to something cliché, forgive me-- although, I'd like to profess that it's likely not cliche for no reason. But that's just how love is; it makes a rational person irrational."

Friend: "I feel like there's a math joke in there."

Me: "I thought you might appreciate that-- if we went a little off tanget."

Friend: "Off tangent? Are you kidding me? Why did I come to you."

Me: "Because I'm blunt, and you felt like you needed that."

Friend: "Well, yeah. More people should be like that. Minus the jokes."

Me: "Yes, but we wouldn't be liked by most people. It's not a pill everyone wants to receive, let alone swallow."

Friend: "One could meagerly theorize that may be the nature of reality."

How could one have everything, yet no one to share them with? What is the thrill of having everything but no one to share them with?

On the drive back home alone with my thoughts I revisited an old belief: there are bigger things in the world than what I worry about every day... Like, how terrible coffee tastes with cream and sugar.
